Is taxing pop really a solution?

No, it isn't. First of all, that advertisement was just disgusting. Drinking fat? Smothering it all over your face? What's wrong with the world?! I don't think I ever want to see something like that again. It's not making me want to stop drinking pop. It's just making me sick. No, this advertisement doesn't want me to be healthier. It just makes me sick. Whoever thought up of that advertisement really was something wrong with them.I understand what message they're trying to send, but is it really necessary to resort to a scare tactic as disgusting as that? It seems more like a desperation thing rather than a scare tactic to me. To me, it just seems like in their head they were thinking "Nothing else is working. We have to do this!" Yes, obesity is a problem in society, but that can't only be blamed on pop. There's so much more things that can be held responsible, it's silly to try and tackle one threat so harshly. What about all the other threats to peoples health? Trans fat, carbohydrates? Maybe even drugs and alcohol. Maybe the tax will happen here, and yes it would discourage me from buying soda. I'm not exactly a big fan of soda anyways, so it wouldn't really affect me. I would not buy any soda or chips or anything. I usually don't, but an increase in price will surely keep me away from it!
