street view is cooooool!

The new Google Maps Street View is a great application. It shows how far our technology has gone. I think it's taken a lot of hard work to make, and nothing is really wrong with it. If you are afraid of having your face shown on Google Street View, there is no problem because everybody's face is blurred for their own personal reasons. I do not really have a problem with this because it doesn't invade anybody's privacy that much. It IS called "Street View" and not "Look into this person's house view". It was made for the purpose of seeing what the street looks like, and nothing else.

Also, I don't understand why people are being afraid of being stalked through this application. When you post up pictures of yourself on Facebook or Myspace, you are giving other people the chance to see you. Just because you posted it up or if Google posts it up, doesn't make a difference on which is worse. If you're so afraid of being stalked, you might as well not put up pictures of yourself on Facebook. Even though your faces are blurred on Google Street View but on Facebook, you're in plain view.

I still think it is a great piece of technology that would be a great use if it was used for its purpose and not used for others. It's not even that great to try to look into people's houses if you're into that. The zoom isn't strong enough, and Google knows better. Yes I've tried, but I tried looking into my own house, but it starts to become pixelated as it gets closer, so no worries there. In conclusion, I think there is no problem with this. Privacy isn't invaded, and it is a great tool for any travelers or tourists who wish to venture into Toronto's streets.
